Tumbulgum Public School
Tumbulgum Public School is a welcoming and inclusive school that offers personalised learning in a family environment. We are a small school, but offer great opportunities for students across academic, sporting, citizenship and cultural endeavours . Through our association with other schools, we offer outstanding experiences. Students are able to compete up to state level in all major sports, including athletics, cross country and swimming. There are innovative programs across the curriculum, with students' imaginations nurtured and challenged. Students are cared for with respect. They are taught about values and social skills, maximising their potential in society. Caring, enthusiastic and experienced teachers bring quality teaching focused on improvement. Student wellbeing is considered the foundation of student success, and this is nurtured through emotional support, a fun and happy environment, and strong relationships with the broader community. We believe every student can achieve, and carefully tailor learning programs to challenge students to do their best. Teaching is explicit, with effective assessment, evaluation and feedback opportunities to ensure success. The school is set on beautiful grounds with exciting outdoor and indoor learning environments.
Flood recovery updates
The NSW Department of Education is coordinating an emergency response effort that is unprecedented in terms of scale and impact. A large number of schools in the Northern Rivers region have damage to either the entire site or some buildings and facilities.
The local School Infrastructure NSW office has inspected all schools in flood-impacted areas and has removed rubbish, cleaned and secured affected sites to ensure they are safe. Teams are repairing and remediating schools that were damaged during the foods and assessing works needed to rebuild the worst affected schools.
Tumbulgum Public School suffered extensive damage as a result of the flood events with floodwater entering the school and damaging buildings on site.
