Clear Air Schools program

Return to top of page

Clear Air Schools is a non-invasive air quality monitoring program. We will analyse air quality data to help develop air quality protocols, aiming to improve the overall learning environment for schools. In late 2022, we installed air monitoring equipment at various indoor and outdoor locations within 100 randomly selected schools across NSW.

This proactive program is a shared initiative from the Department of Education and University of NSW. Data will be collected and monitored over the next 2 years.

The Clear Air Schools program’s objectives have been developed with feedback from a range of government, NSW public and independent school representatives, as well as learning space architects and air pollution researchers.
