Expression of interest for renewable energy in schools

Proposals are now being sought from energy market specialists on how to finance, deliver and operate renewable energy solutions across NSW public schools.

It would include ways to finance, deliver and operate solar and battery systems under a power purchase agreement (PPA) and how they could be managed with other demand response initiatives and energy storage as part of a virtual powerplant (VPP).

Non-binding proposals received during the EOI will be shortlisted in early 2023. 

The short-listed proposals will be considered as part of a potential future large-scale roll-out across the NSW public school asset portfolio.

The expression of interest (EOI) process is now open for businesses to submit non-binding proposals for a range of potential renewable energy solutions, including different options around who owns and maintains the systems. The procurement process will be managed via the NSW Government’s eTendering website.
